World Bank: Approval of a project to improve railway performance in Iraq

Baghdad - Al-Sharqiya, June 25: The World Bank has approved a $930 million project to help improve railway performance in Iraq. According to a World Bank statement, the project will contribute to boosting internal trade, creating jobs, and diversifying the economy. The World Bank also approved a $146 million grant to help Syria restore reliable and affordable electricity supplies and support the country's economic recovery. It also approved $250 million in financing for Lebanon to help repair vital infrastructure and remove rubble in war-damaged areas.
