Lattakia - ALsharqiya, August 14: Syrian firefighting teams continue their efforts to extinguish fires for the third day in the countryside of Lattakia, Hama, western Idlib, and Tartous. A Syrian Civil Defense official confirmed to SANA that these areas witnessed the outbreak of more than 20 fires, some of which were controlled, while firefighting teams are still fighting the remaining fires amid difficulties due to the rugged terrain of these areas. He pointed out that they dealt with three locations in the Lattakia countryside where more than 9 fires broke out, and similar fires in Tartous, Hama, and Idlib. The Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management is following up on extinguishing efforts and coordinating with government institutions, according to an urgent response plan that includes directing operations, securing water sources, and deploying support and assistance teams.
