Washington-ALsharqiya January 30: WhatsApp added a scan of the eyes, fingerprints and face, to its web application, to allow users to use their fingerprints to log into their accounts safely.
The company stated that this feature is an additional layer of security for users, and WhatsApp will not be able to access the user's vital data, but only allow him to use face, hand or eye fingerprints to access his account. According to the American newspaper Business Insider. Currently, users are required to link their WhatsApp account from phone to WhatsApp Web, by scanning the QR code. The announcement of the addition of this new feature comes at a sensitive moment for the WhatsApp application, which is still suffering from a violent response by users after the imposition of a new set of terms and conditions related to the privacy of accounts earlier this month. And WhatsApp said in a statement issued yesterday: that users of Apple devices with iOS 14 and Android system phones, will be able to use the face print, fingerprint, as well as the eye. He added: WhatsApp will not see your facial data or your finger data, because the device deals with biometric information, and therefore WhatsApp cannot access your data. WhatsApp clarified that it does not share its users' sites with Facebook, and confirmed that this feature is also subject to encryption, meaning that no one can know the location of the user except those who are sharing this information.
