Baghdad - Al-Sharqiya, August 6: Citizens from agricultural areas in Baghdad appealed to the government to expedite land ownership transactions, demanding that the Al-Saydiya scenario not be repeated and that things not get out of control. Residents of agricultural areas demanded that they be included in Law 320 on agricultural land ownership, stressing their right to do so based on official approvals and warning against attempts at bulldozing and encroachment that threaten the stability of their areas. Local authorities in Nasiriyah revealed that suspicious parties have seized residential lands owned by citizens by circumventing Cabinet Resolution No. 20, especially in prime locations within the city. The authorities confirmed that construction operations are being carried out at night and during official holidays using old documents supported by parties within some official departments, threatening to hold those involved accountable and take strict legal action.
