Geneva - ALsharqiya, May 10: The highly anticipated trade talks between the United States and China began in Geneva on Saturday, led by US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, according to Xinhua News Agency, in a first step toward defusing the trade war that has ravaged the global economy. Besant and US Trade Representative Jameson Greer are meeting with He in Geneva after weeks of escalating tensions that have led to a sharp increase in import tariffs between the world's two largest economies, exceeding 100 percent.
