Türkiye records highest temperature in its history

ANKARA - ALsharqiya, July 27: Turkey recorded a record temperature of 50.5 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit) in an area near the Iraqi border for the first time in the country. The Turkish Ministry of Environment said on its website that the temperature was recorded on July 25 in the Silopi district of Şırnak province, less than 10 kilometers from the Iraqi and Syrian borders. The highest temperature recorded in Türkiye was 49.5 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit) in Eskisehir province in 2023.
