United States-ALSHARQIYA October 2: Hollywood star Tom Hanks warned of the spread of an advertisement for dental insurance, which was created by artificial intelligence without his knowledge.
The ad spread online used a digital version of the Oscar-winning actor's face and voice to promote a dental insurance plan.
Hanks (67 years old) said on his Instagram account, which is followed by about 9.5 million people: “Beware! There is a video clip promoting some dental plans using my artificial intelligence version. I have nothing to do with it.”
The American actor had previously expressed his concerns about the use of artificial intelligence in cinema and television, although he did not hesitate to approve digitally modified versions of himself in previous artistic works.
For example, the 2004 animated film "The Polar Express" featured a computer-generated version of Hanks, and his age was also reduced in some scenes in last year's film "A Man Called Otto."
But in his conversation with British comedian Adam Buxton on April 18, Hanks said about artificial intelligence: “We saw this coming. We saw that there would be this ability to turn the zeros and ones inside the computer into a face and a personality.”
“AI could allow a fake version of itself to keep acting forever,” Hanks told Buxton.
He continued: "I may be hit by a bus tomorrow, but the shows can go on and on."
