TikTok videos could expose your device to hacking

London - ALsharqiya, May 31: In a worrying development in the world of cybersecurity, a new method used by hackers to deceive TikTok users has been uncovered. These videos appear to be normal, but are actually a means of spreading malware.

According to a report published by the Lebanese newspaper An-Nahar, these videos rely on convincing audio and visual instructions, asking users to execute specific commands on their computers, under the pretext that they help download popular programs such as Microsoft Office or Spotify for free.

However, these commands actually download malware without the user's knowledge, allowing hackers to steal data, disable security software, and even remain active on the device even after a restart.

The new threat doesn't rely on links!

What's striking is that the victim doesn't click on any links or enter suspicious websites; rather, they execute the commands themselves, sometimes rendering security software unable to detect the threat in time. One of these misleading videos has garnered over half a million views, meaning thousands of users may have already been exposed to this type of scam.

Be careful!

Experts warn against interacting with any technical videos from unknown sources, especially those that ask you to perform direct steps on your device. They emphasize that digital awareness is the first line of defense against hackers.
