Washington - ALsharqiya January 15: Global platforms reported, citing Reuters, that TikTok is preparing to shut down the application in America next Sunday. The US Department of Justice had reported that TikTok poses a threat to US national security due to its ability to access massive amounts of data about American users, from locations to private messages, and its ability to “secretly manipulate” the content they watch on the application. A number of Democratic and Republican lawmakers pressured the court, which includes three judges appointed by Trump during his first term, to uphold the law and ban the application on the basis of protecting the American people from “foreign threats.”
