London - ALsharqiya, August 6: In a new warning, cybersecurity experts have revealed an increase in scammers using game cheats and mods infected with malware known as "Trojan.Scavenger" targeting Windows users.
How does the infection spread?
Gamers download compressed ZIP files claiming to improve game performance.
These files contain malicious libraries that are automatically loaded when the game is launched.

Keep your antivirus software up to date.
Be careful when interacting with online gaming communities that may post suspicious content.
Check file paths and limit the privileges of accounts you use daily.
Protecting yourself begins with caution and awareness. Don't let fraudulent programs become a gateway to stealing your data and digital money.
