BEIJING -Al Sharqiya, July 28 (Xinhua) -- Chinese authorities have evacuated more than 4,400 people after heavy rains intensified around the capital, Beijing, and neighboring provinces in the north of the country, increasing the risk of disasters including landslides and floods. Images circulating in China showed areas in Miyun where cars and trucks were floating on a road submerged by water so high it covered part of a residential building. China's state broadcaster CCTV said the power outage also affected more than 10,000 people in the area.
