The wife of the poet Badr Shaker Al-Sayyab died after a long struggle with illness

Basra - Al-Sharqiya, March 1: Ghailan Al-Sayyab, son of the great Iraqi poet Badr Shaker Al-Sayyab, mourned today, Friday, his mother and Al-Sayyab's widow, Iqbal Taha Abdul Jalil. Ghailan Al-Sayyab said, in a tweet, that: “I have moved to God’s side and mercy, the generous, patient and loyal lady, my mother, Umm Ghailan, after a long suffering from illness during which she was one of the patient and thankful.” Al-Sayyab married Iqbal in 1955, and she is a relative of his. He mentioned his wife, Iqbal, in his last poems, especially his poem “A Will,” and he was blessed with Ghaida, Ghaylan, and Alaa.
