Baghdad - ALsharqiya, August 9: The Electoral Commission conducted a lottery on Saturday for the numbers of candidates for the upcoming elections, stressing the need to develop and modernize the voting machines. The Electoral Commission determined the numbers of alliances, parties, and individuals, starting with 201 and going up to 350, with the number 56 being dropped due to its social connotations. Some of the numbers of alliances, parties, and candidates for the upcoming elections were distributed as follows:
United Iraqi Turkmen Front 217, Iraqi Turkmen Front 268, State Forces Alliance 231, Azm Alliance 241, Reconstruction and Development Coalition 207, Badr Organization 218, Sovereignty Alliance 221, Patriotic Union of Kurdistan 222, State of Law Coalition 257, Sadiqoun 202, Alternative Party 250, Fayli Front 291, Design Alliance 252, Progress Party 255, Kurdistan Democratic Party 275, and Nineveh for its people 267 The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Omar Ahmed, announced the participation of 31 alliances, 38 parties, and 76 candidates, including 23 for general seats and 53 for component seats in the upcoming elections, indicating that organizing the public lottery comes to confirm the commitment to transparency and neutrality in conducting the parliamentary entitlement.
