Stanford University lays off hundreds of employees

Washington - Al sharqiya 06 August: Stanford University has laid off more than 360 employees, citing budget constraints stemming from President Donald Trump's federal funding policies. A university spokesperson said in an emailed statement in response to media reports about the layoffs that Stanford is in the process of making budget cuts. The Trump administration had threatened to cut federal funding to universities over pro-Palestinian protests amid the war waged by Israel, as well as climate initiatives, transgender policies, and diversity, equity, and inclusion programs.
