Sherine files a complaint against a producer on charges of stealing her accounts on social media platforms

Egypt-Al-Sharqiya September 6: Egyptian singer Sherine Abdel Wahab submitted a report to the Public Prosecutor against Mohamed Osama Mahmoud Hassanein Al-Shaer, known as Mohamed Al-Shaer, after he seized her official pages on social networking sites and her YouTube channel, without her knowledge or consent. In addition to publishing many of her singing works on these sites and making profits from them.

The details of the report submitted by Sherine’s lawyer, Yasser Kantoush, according to a media statement issued by him on Wednesday, were that the poet seized all of her websites and published her songs in order to make all viewers believe that she was the one publishing them on those sites, without obtaining her permission. This caused her serious damage, as the defendant became the controller of her YouTube channel.

The report added that the defendant had contracted with Anghami and published the song “I Swear to You” without obtaining its approval. He had also contracted with the Spotify platform without obtaining its permission, and among the sites that were seized was her YouTube channel. He publishes songs on her without her consent, and obtains the revenues resulting from publishing these songs for himself. In addition to seizing her Facebook, X, Instagram, and TikTok accounts.

Sherine's legal advisor asked the Public Prosecutor to review and take the necessary legal measures, and to prosecute Al-Shaer on charges of violating the law on combating information technology crimes, seizing the complainant's official websites without her knowledge or consent, and profiting from that seizure.

It is noteworthy that singer Sherine Abdel Wahab had filed a report at the police department last April against Mohamed Al-Shaer, the owner of The Basement Records, in collusion with one of her former business managers to defraud her and steal her pages.

The company had previously produced a number of songs for Sherine, before the disagreements occurred between them, including “Kadabeen,” “Mashaer,” “Nasay,” and others.
