Seven Iraqi cities are among the hottest in the world.

Baghdad - Al-Sharqiya, August 4: Seven Iraqi cities recorded high temperatures, placing them among the hottest regions in the world during the past 24 hours. According to a table published by the American station "Placerville", the city of "Amidiyah" in Iran topped the list of cities with the highest temperature, reaching 49.5 degrees Celsius, followed by "Safabad Dezful" also in Iran with a temperature of 49 degrees Celsius, while the Iraqi city of Amara came in third place with a temperature of 48.9 degrees Celsius, followed by the Basra International Airport area with the same temperature. In addition, the Meteorological Authority warned that Iraqi cities are affected by an extension of a seasonal heat depression in which stable and very hot summer weather prevails in general.
