Secretary of Iran's National Security Council visits Iraq

Baghdad - ALsharqia, August 11: Iran's Tasnim News Agency quoted Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani as saying that the reasons for his visit to Baghdad are divided into two parts: the first relates to the historical neighborly relations between Iran and Iraq, and the second relates to the common security of the two countries. Larijani said that Iraq is a friendly country to Iran, and they have close and high-level trade relations. He praised the Iraqi government's efforts in facilitating the entry of Iranian pilgrims to Iraq during the Arbaeen ceremonies. Larijani stressed the necessity of the security agreement with Iraq, and said that Iran's vision and approach towards its neighbors is linked to achieving its internal security and the security of its neighbors simultaneously. Regarding the situation in Lebanon, Larijani said that national unity is an important issue that must be preserved, and that Lebanon's independence is always important to Iran.
