Rain and floods on the Japanese island of Kyushu

TOKYO -Al sharqiya , August 8: The Fire and Disaster Management Agency on Japan's southern island of Kyushu issued evacuation warnings for more than 360,000 people in Kagoshima and neighboring Miyazaki prefectures. Heavy rains caused floods and landslides, sending residents fleeing to shelters. A mudslide hit a house in the city of Ira, Kagoshima prefecture, burying two people who were rescued alive and taken to hospital. The heavy rains paralyzed local transport, halting trains and buses, and dozens of flights to and from Kagoshima were canceled.
