Italy-Alsharqiya September 5: Last weekend, Giorgio Armani held a display of its high-end fashions on the sidelines of the 80th Venice Film Festival. This offer comes within the “One Night Only” series, which the house has previously presented in several international cities, including: London, Tokyo, Beijing, Rome, New York, Paris, and Dubai.
This show was a tribute to the city of Venice, and 65 models participated in it, walking on a runway specially built for the occasion in the Arsenale complex, which previously included shipyards. Designer Giorgio Armani, 89 years old, wanted this party to celebrate cinema and honor the city of Venice. He had previously expressed in this field his enthusiasm for organizing this celebration that combines cinema and fashion, two worlds that generated real emotions in his life as a designer.
Mr. Armani's association with the Venice Film Festival began more than 30 years ago, specifically in 1990, coinciding with the screening of the famous documentary film "Made in Milan", which was signed by director Martin Scorsese. At the time, designer Giorgio Armani was keen to honor him during a special ceremony held on the sidelines of the Venice Film Festival.
The designs for this show were selected from Giorgio Armani Prive's spring/summer 2023 haute couture collection. This collection was inspired by the charm and glamor of the city of Venice, which explains the sparkling touches that appeared on the fashions. The show was followed by a cocktail party attended by about 700 guests, in which international stars such as Sophia Loren and Jessica Chastain participated.
The organizers of this celebration were keen to implement sustainable measures that are in line with the “One Night Only” event. These measures are based on stimulating the reuse and recycling of used materials, such as reducing food waste, using sustainable materials, and dealing with suppliers and companies that comply with environmentally friendly standards.
