Microsoft warns its employees against using the application

London - ALsharqiya , May 10: Brad Smith, Microsoft's vice chairman and president, announced that the company has banned its employees from using the DeepSeek artificial intelligence app due to concerns about data security and propaganda.

"At Microsoft, we do not allow our employees to use DeepSeek," Smith said in his statement, noting that the app, which is available on computers and phones, is not listed in the Microsoft App Store for these reasons. Smith explained that this decision is due to the risks associated with storing data in China, as well as the possibility that DeepSeek's answers could be influenced by Chinese propaganda. He confirmed that Microsoft had successfully hacked and modified the model to remove "harmful side effects." This is the first official announcement from Microsoft regarding a ban on the use of DeepSeek, although many organizations and countries have previously imposed restrictions on it for similar reasons.
