Italy-ALsharqiya, July 18: Dolce & Gabbana recently revealed its collection of high-end men's fashion, known as Alta Sartoria 2023, during a show held in the idyllic town of Ostuni, located in the Puglia region, in southern Italy. This show comes as part of the trio of high-end designs of women's, men's, and jewelry that the house has been offering since 2012.
The show included more than 90 men's looks that transported the audience to a world of luxurious elegance and elaborate craftsmanship. It also paid tribute to the cultural and artistic heritage of the coastal regions of southern Italy influenced by the Greek civilization, as they were Greek colonies between the eighth and fifth centuries BC.
The designs were adorned with a neutral color palette inspired by the picturesque landscapes of Ostuni, where the show was held, and varied between white, ivory, off-white, grey, earthy, honey, dark brown and black. As for the materials used, they were distinguished by their feminine nature, with a remarkable presence of lace, paillettes, satin, silk, and even crochet, which reminds of tablecloths inherited from generation to generation. The latter symbolizes, through its delicate threads, the interdependence between heritage, fashion, and art, as an expression of nostalgia for the past and interest in its traditions.
The ancient techniques of goldsmithing were used in the implementation of delicate motifs of mother-of-pearl, which were used to decorate costumes that combined a modern character with touches that evoke the atmosphere of ancient civilizations.
The show began with a group of white looks that were adorned with motifs and perforations, and were dominated by loose cuts and lines usually used in the implementation of men's nightwear. The suits departed from their traditional character to be implemented with satin and lace materials while preserving the classic lines in terms of design.
The house's designers, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, brought some casual pieces such as shorts and sleeveless shirts, and worked on presenting them in a high-fashion tailoring style.
Wide and long belts made of cloth appeared to accompany many looks, and the costumes were adorned with crystal stones, pearls, and brooches, which added touches of luxury and radiance to the looks.
