Kuwait-Sharqiya, October 12: Today, Thursday, Kuwait announced the cessation of artistic celebrations in solidarity with the Palestinian people, due to the developments taking place in the Gaza Strip, and in mourning for the souls of the Palestinian martyrs.
The Government Communication Center said, on its official account on the “X” platform (formerly Twitter): “The Council of Ministers directed the Ministry of Information to stop artistic celebrations in the State of Kuwait, in solidarity with the brotherly Palestinian people as a result of the Israeli aggression they are being subjected to, and in mourning for the lives of the Palestinians.” The righteous martyrs.”
The Communication Center stated that this comes as "an affirmation of the State of Kuwait's permanent position in support of the Palestinian issue, and the developments taking place in the Gaza Strip."
Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information for Press, Publishing and Publications, Lafi Al-Subaie, told Al-Rai newspaper, “The Ministry of Information will stop all artistic and singing concerts in Kuwait, starting today (Thursday), in implementation of the directives of the Council of Ministers in this regard, in solidarity with the brotherly Palestinian people.” .
Al-Subaie continued: “Ceasing the concerts will include all events that the Ministry of Information had previously issued a license to hold,” and pointed out that it comes “as an expression of the firm and principled Kuwaiti position towards the Palestinian issue, especially at this stage, and the developments it is witnessing.”
On Thursday, the Emirati artist Hussein Al Jasmi, the Iraqi artist Rahma Riyad, and the Egyptian artists Tamer Ashour and Bahaa Sultan, and the Saudi artist Ayed, were scheduled to perform on Friday at the Kuwait Arena Theater, as part of the Laylat Omar Festival in its second session.
The festival organizers had previously announced that all tickets for the concerts offered to the public had been sold out "in record time" and days before the scheduled concert dates.
