Kurdistan refuses to cut its employees' salaries

Erbil - ALsharqiya, June 5: The Kurdistan Regional Government's Council of Ministers considered the suspension of salaries of the region's employees a political decision that constitutes collective punishment and is considered an unconstitutional and illegal decision. A statement issued after the conclusion of an extraordinary session on Wednesday, chaired by Masrour Barzani, stated that the region has fulfilled all its obligations and transparently provided all financial data and information to the joint team of the Federal and Regional Boards of Supreme Audit regarding the disbursement of salaries in full. It called for a review of the decision of the Federal Ministry of Finance and the implementation of the joint agreement. The statement concluded by sending a message to the international community to explain the dimensions of the issue and call for support for its solution within the constitutional framework.
