Gaza - Al Sharqiya, August 8: Jordanian King Abdullah II stressed Jordan's categorical rejection and condemnation of the plan approved by the Israeli Ministerial Council to consolidate the occupation of the Gaza Strip and expand military control over it, which undermines the two-state solution and the rights of the Palestinian people and threatens international efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement and end the humanitarian suffering in Gaza. The Jordanian monarch, during a phone call he received from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, affirmed Jordan's solidarity with the Palestinian brothers and the Kingdom's adherence to its principles regarding supporting the Palestinians in achieving their just and legitimate rights and establishing their independent state in accordance with the two-state solution.
