Iraq secures gas platform in 2026

Baghdad - Al-Sharqiya, August 11: Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani announced that the summer of 2026 will witness the securing of a gas-supply platform, achieving flexibility in meeting the needs of gas stations, directing the regulation of consumption through the activation of collection. Al-Sudani confirmed working on a broader partnership in securing gas for stations, completing the equipment of the floating platform, and working on the presence of a fixed platform to receive gas in the Grand Faw Port. He indicated that the government is proceeding with the largest project with General Electric Company with gas turbines targeting the production of 24,000 megawatts, as well as the production track with Siemens targeting the production of 15,000 megawatts, and the thermal stations track to produce 10,000 megawatts.
