Iraq loses 4,200 megawatts of power

Baghdad - ALsharqiya, July 23: The Ministry of Electricity in Iraq announced the loss of 4,200 megawatts of energy production and a decrease in the level of supply due to the decline in Iranian gas releases. The ministry said that the main reason for the decline in the supply hours in the energy system is the decline in imported gas releases, which caused a number of generating units to go out of service in several stations. It added that this decline directly affected the stability of the electrical system and the hours of supply in a number of governorates, especially since some stations depend entirely on imported gas. It indicated that governorates such as Baghdad, the Middle Euphrates, and Diyala were among the most affected as a result of their reliance on stations supplied with Iranian gas.
