Iraq loses 3,800 megawatts of power

Baghdad - Al-Sharqiya, July 1: The Ministry of Electricity announced that Iraq has lost 3,800 megawatts after the quantities of gas imported from Iran witnessed a significant decline in the past hours. The ministry said in a statement that Iranian gas decreased to approximately 25 million cubic meters per day, compared to the contracted quantities between Iraq and Iran, which amounted to 55 million cubic meters per day. It confirmed that this sudden decline has caused a number of gas production stations to go out of service, which led to the loss of approximately 3,800 megawatts of national generating capacity.
