Identification of the body of French actor Marouane Bereny

France-Alsharqiya October 20: The French judiciary officially identified the body of Marouane Perini, one of the actors of the series Plus belle la vie, more than two months after his disappearance.

Genetic analyzes conducted on the body of a hanged man found last week, in Beaujolais (central France), confirmed that it indeed belongs to Marouane Perigny, according to what the Villefranche-sur-Saône prosecutor announced in a statement.

A suitcase containing the papers of the actor, known for playing the role of lawyer Abdel Fadala in the series between 2009 and 2022, was found on October 12, in an uninhabited farm in Courcelles-en-Beaujolais.

The prosecutor explained that the initial results of the autopsy “are consistent with death by hanging,” noting that “investigations are continuing.”

In August, a preliminary investigation was opened into a “disturbing disappearance” in which nothing was known about the actor following a car accident in which he may have been involved.

On the evening of August 3, a 37-year-old woman was hit by a car in Macon, central France, near a nightclub. She suffered multiple fractures that led to her being completely unable to work for 28 days. The car driver fled. Two days later, an SUV that “may be identical to the vehicle involved in the accident” was found in the town of Vlorë, about 15 kilometers south.

According to sources close to the file, the car belongs to Marwan Perini, who lives near there.

Filming of the series Plus belle la vie was scheduled to begin without Marouane Bereni. It will resume at the end of October, marking the return of the longest television series ever produced in France, less than a year after the last episode was broadcast on France 3.
