“Ideas from the clay of Mesopotamia” by artist Alaa Al-Bashir

London - Al Sharqiya, December 25: Arab and foreign cultural circles in London interacted with the special art exhibition of the pioneering Iraqi artist, Dr. Alaa Bashir, who presented 51 works in the “Ideas from the Clay of the Two Rivers” exhibition that dealt with various topics from Iraq. The artist Alaa Bashir says that the exhibition presents the outcome Intellectual for what he witnessed himself during the wars in Iraq, as well as scenes of Sumerian sculptures, myths of life and death, and the miracle of creation from dust... Pointing out that the London exhibition included works previously hosted by the Arts Center in Baghdad in the 1990s. Bashir goes on to say that he finds Iraqis going to Baghdad today and returning to happily talk about malls and restaurants. However, he finds this very strange before he wonders: Is civilization malls and restaurants, and what about the civilization that was destroyed and the souls that were ruined by the occupation? ..Do we limit our interests to the appearances of restaurants and food? This confirms to me that the Iraqis did not benefit from the experiences they went through... and from here the ideas exploded from the clay of Mesopotamia.
