London-ALsharqiya, December 5: Google issued warnings to millions of Android users of the need to check if they were part of a large hacking operation targeting passwords. The tech company has a genius feature that alerts users if their password is part of a hack, and it even works on Android phones. This feature is called password checking and it is something you should never ignore. Google does this by matching your passwords to known data breaches that are readily available to online fraudsters.
Until recently, this feature was available on Google Chrome desktop. But the company went a step further earlier this year, bringing the notification to Chrome on Android devices as well. Password Checkup for Android is one of the newest useful features that can be accessed on the Google Assistant. The extra protection will help users check their saved credentials for security vulnerabilities and provide a list of actions to improve online security, Google says. When the notification appears, Google Assistant will offer to automatically generate a new password for you. It will then be stored on your Google account for recall whenever you need to access that website. To take advantage of this feature, you will need to install the latest version of Google Play, according to the British newspaper, The Sun.
