TOKYO - Al sharqiya July 30: Evacuation orders were issued for most of Japan's eastern coast following the earthquake and subsequent tsunami in eastern Russia. The Japan Meteorological Agency raised its warning and said it expected tsunami waves of up to three meters in height to reach many coastal areas. Tsunami warning sirens sounded in coastal towns along Japan's Pacific coast. Footage broadcast by the Japanese Broadcasting Corporation showed dozens of people on the northern island of Hokkaido on the roof of a building, taking shelter under tents from the sun, while fishing boats left ports to avoid potential damage from the incoming waves. Meanwhile, Tokyo Electric Power Company evacuated the Fukushima nuclear plant following tsunami warnings following the earthquake that struck eastern Russia on the Pacific coast. Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary said that no injuries or radiation damage had been recorded so far, and that there had been no Any disturbances in any of the nuclear power plants.
