Electricity is talking about peak production and the outages continue

Baghdad - Al-Sharqiya, August 8: Minister of Electricity Ziyad Ali Fadhil said that Iraq achieved an unprecedented record in energy production on Thursday, reaching 28,000 megawatts, despite the continued power outages in several areas of the country. The Minister of Electricity added that for the first time in Iraq’s history, peak production reached 28,000 megawatts, thanks to a well-thought-out plan that included long-term maintenance contracts, station modernization, the installation of advanced cooling systems, and partial utilization of imported fuel. The Minister of Electricity revealed agreements with General Electric to build power plants with a capacity of 24,000 megawatts, and with Siemens with a capacity of 14,000 megawatts. He also pointed out that an agreement will soon be signed with Shanghai Power with a capacity of 10,000 megawatts, with the aim of filling the gap in the growing demand for energy.
