Egypt-ALSHARQIYA, September 7: Dior announced its selection of the Egyptian actor, Ahmed Malik, as the first Arab ambassador for its fashion and perfumes in the Middle East, and this step comes within the framework of strengthening the association of this ancient French house with the Arab region, so why did it choose the name of Ahmed Malik in particular?
Malek is considered one of the most prominent new figures in the world of contemporary Arab cinema, and he represents a symbol of daring, excellence, and innovation in the art world. El Masry embodies the spirit and uniqueness of Dior's style, and he will represent the boldness and creativity of our brand in the Middle East. This statement coincided with the publication of a group of photos of the young Egyptian star wearing costumes bearing the signature of the French house
Naming Malek as the first regional ambassador for the Dior brand in the field of men’s fashion and perfumes represents the latest step linking the French house with Egypt, which was preceded in December of last year by the house organizing a fashion show at the feet of the Pyramids of Giza.
Ahmed Malek joins a group of international stars that Dior chose as its ambassadors. It had previously cooperated last August with the Korean singing group TXT, while it signed another cooperation contract last January with Jimin, the Korean singing star of BTS. In 2013, it chose Robert Pattinson, star of The Twilight Saga, to be the face of Dior Homme perfume, and in 2015, the star Johnny Depp was chosen as the face of Dior Sauvage, while between 2008 and 2012, British actor Jude Law was chosen to be the Dior brand ambassador.
Dior's cooperation with Ahmed Malek comes after he was chosen by the French house Cartier as one of its regional ambassadors. Last June, he appeared in a campaign for the house alongside Egyptian actress Tara Emad and Tunisian actors Dhafer El Abdeen and Hend Sabry.
Malek was able to achieve many artistic successes during his career, and he recently appeared in the movie The Swimmers on the Netflix platform, which is inspired by the true story of the two young women, Yousra and Sarah Al-Mardini, who fled the Syrian war to Europe in the hope of participating in the Rio Olympics in 2016.
In Egypt, he was famous for his participation in the series “Zay El Shams”, and on the international level he was chosen as one of the rising stars at the Toronto Film Festival during the year 2018, and he also participated in a role in the English film The Furnace during the year 2020.
He will soon appear in the BBC series Boiling Point, establishing him as one of the new generation of Arab actors with global influence.
