Celine Dion barely moves and has no treatment for her condition

Canada-Alsharqiya, August 10: The sister of the Canadian star, Celine Dion, raised her audience's concern when she talked about the developments in her health condition, as she confirmed that they were still struggling to find the appropriate treatment for her disease, "stiff person syndrome", which shocked her fans.

Claudette Dion explained, in a press interview, that despite the follow-up of Dion's health condition with senior researchers in the field, she did not witness that development and did not reach the stage of recovery yet.

She also added, "We cannot find a cure for her condition, but we cling to hope, as it is necessary," according to what was reported by "Le Journal de Montreal."

Claudette indicated that Celine's cancellation of her "Courage" world tour after she was diagnosed with the disease was a necessary step to speed up her recovery.

"I think she needs to rest, she's always trying to be the best and the best. At some point, your heart and your body are trying to tell you something. It's important to listen to them," she said.

Earlier, a source close to Dion told Radar Online that she is in a much worse situation than what the artist says, and surprised her fans after revealing the possibility of her inability to perform concerts anymore.

The source added that Dion can hardly move her body, and is in great pain, although she has a very strong medical team, but her condition is declining, and she is not feeling well, commenting: "She suffers from an incurable disease and no matter how hard she works with the doctors, she simply does not improve." .

He pointed out that the Canadian star may not return to musical theaters in the near future, although she is making a great effort to meet her fans again.

In December 2022, the French-Canadian singer posted an emotional video on Instagram saying that she had been diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome and that she would not be ready to start a European tour in February as planned.

She said the disorder causes muscle spasms and "doesn't allow me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I used to".

According to the National Institutes of Health, stiff person syndrome is a "rare, progressive neurological disorder" that can cause stiffness in the muscles of the trunk, arms, and legs, and affects up to one in a million people.

The institute says that abnormal postures, often hunched and rigid, are a feature of the disorder.

People with stiff person syndrome may not be able to walk or move, or they may be afraid to leave the house because street noise can trigger convulsions.
