Al-Sudani receives a group of Iraqi art stars and a number of writers and intellectuals

Baghdad - Al-Sharqiya, December 4: Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani launched a cultural and artistic project in Iraq to support cinema, drama, theatre, plastic arts and literature, and announced the allocation of an amount of 13 billion and 500 million Iraqi dinars to implement the project. This came during Al-Sudani’s reception of a group of artists, representatives of the Writers’ Union, and a number of writers and intellectuals in Iraq. During the meeting, Al-Sudani stressed the necessity of the private sector entering artistic production and not relying solely on government support. He pointed out that the cultural and artistic fields are of great importance to the government. Due to the impact of its artistic and literary productions and festivals in creating a positive impression of the country’s stability, and the possibility of investing in art and culture to combat various dangerous phenomena such as violence, extremism, and drugs.
