Al-Sudani: Political blocs obstructed the ministerial reshuffle.

Baghdad - ALsharqiya, August 9: Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani accused political blocs of obstructing the ministerial reshuffle, which included six ministers in his government whose performance was proven by evaluations to be weak in their ministries. Al-Sudani said during the first conference to evaluate government performance that some political forces had presented replacements with a level much lower than the ministers who were evaluated in an attempt to obstruct the work of the current government. Al-Sudani also announced the referral of four ministers in his government to the judiciary due to indications and suspicions of corruption that accompanied their performance. Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani announced the dismissal of 41 directors general and the termination of the assignment of 89 who were working in an acting capacity after completing 1,135 semi-annual evaluations, stressing the government’s success in ending the acting positions by 92 percent. Al-Sudani indicated that the lack of consensus among the political forces prevented voting on the remaining directors general in the Iraqi Parliament. Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani renewed his warnings against attempts to exploit government positions for electoral purposes as the national entitlement approaches. Al-Sudani called on all officials to adhere to legal and job regulations, stressing the government’s keenness to Implementing reforms and achieving tangible results for the benefit of the Iraqi citizen
