Karbala - Al Sharqiya, August 8: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani inaugurated an electrical transformer station in southern Old Karbala with a capacity of 180 megawatts, a number of feeder lines, and projects to relieve bottlenecks in the national grid. Al-Sudani confirmed that the last Arbaeen pilgrimage season witnessed the diagnosis of a clear defect in the distribution network, with high loads that clearly affected the level of service, noting that upgrading the electricity sector does not only mean adding production stations, but rather paying attention to the complementary sectors of distribution and transmission.
