Baghdad - ALsharqiya, August 9: The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, decided to dismiss the commanders of the 45th and 46th Brigades of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) and refer all those involved in the attack on the Karkh Agriculture Department to the judiciary. The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces said that the investigative committee formed by order of al-Sudani into the attack on the Karkh Agriculture Department concluded that the armed elements who committed this violation are affiliated with Kata'ib Hezbollah and are affiliated with the 45th and 46th Brigades of the Popular Mobilization Forces. The spokesman confirmed that the aforementioned force acted without orders or approval, contrary to established military procedures, and used weapons against members of the security services, resulting in martyrs and wounded, some of whom were civilians. According to the spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief, the investigations indicated a flaw in the command and control file within the Popular Mobilization Forces and the presence of formations that do not adhere to military controls and movements. Investigations also revealed the involvement of the dismissed director of the Karkh Agriculture Department, Ayad Kazim Ali, in these events and in prior coordination for the deployment of armed forces. He was also implicated in administrative corruption, impersonation, forgery of several official documents and certificates, and participation in contract forgery, which led to the seizure of agricultural land from its rightful owners. Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, approved the recommendations of the investigative committee into the Karkh events, which included the formation of an investigative committee against the commander of the Jazeera Operations in the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), for his negligence in command and control duties. It was also decided to refer all those involved in the incident to the judiciary and to hold accountable those who failed to take swift legal and security measures. It was also emphasized the need to address any failure to comply with the disciplinary procedures and guidelines of some PMF formations, and to refrain from complacency or delay in doing so. Al-Sudani directed that the security personnel who confronted the attack be honored for performing their duties with competence and courage, and to guarantee the rights of the martyrs and wounded who were victims of the attack. Including civilian Abbas Obaid Nahi, who is considered a martyr enjoying all civil rights.
