Al-Sudani affirms Iraq's position of standing by Syria's stability

Baghdad - ALsharqiya August 13: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani reiterated Iraq's position of standing by Syria's stability and sovereignty over its lands and rejecting any aggression against it, in addition to working to enhance coordination and solidarity in facing common challenges and the conflicts facing the region. Al-Sudani's statements came during his reception in Baghdad of Syrian Energy Minister Mohammed Al-Bashir. The meeting witnessed a review of the prospects for bilateral relations and the possibility of reviving the Kirkuk-Banias oil pipeline and options for its rehabilitation. The meeting also touched on joint opportunities to advance oil and petrochemical industry projects on the Mediterranean coast, as well as reviewing opportunities for coordination to confront climate change and in the field of organizing joint water quotas in the Euphrates Basin.
