Baghdad - ALsharqiya, August 11: Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani inaugurated the 13th gas turbine unit at the Bismayah gas power plant, which will add 300 megawatts to the national grid’s production. Al-Sudani also inaugurated the units that underwent maintenance and renovation at the Bismayah plant, raising the plant’s total production to 5,000 megawatts. Al-Sudani stressed the continuation of developing electricity production in Iraq and proceeding to build partnerships to secure gas for production plants, noting that his government has worked on several tracks in the electricity file, all of which have witnessed remarkable progress, which will achieve an additional 60,000 megawatts with the completion of major projects.
