Russia-Alsharqiya, October 4: The painting “Portrait of a Young Peasant Woman” by the Russian-French visual artist Zinaida Serebryakova was offered at the 500th Jubilee Auction of the Russian ARTInvestment.RU auction house for one million dollars.
The painting became the first piece of art in the 500th jubilee auction of the ARTInvestment.RU auction house, which opened on October 2.
It is noteworthy that the painting was painted in 1915, at the height of the artist’s creativity, and the press service said that it expected the price of the painting to reach one million dollars.
The visual artist Serebryakova painted the painting in 1915 and created a series of paintings on the subject of Russian village life and peasant life, including the paintings “Whitening the Cloth” and “The Peasants.”
It is noteworthy that "peasant melodies" are the main theme of Zinaida Serebryakova's creativity. The painter was in the Neskuchnoye family estate, where the summer season is inspired by nature and peasant life.
The auction also includes works by twentieth-century Russian painters Vasily Polenov, Nikolai Sapunov, Abraham Arkhipov, Isaac Levitan, Konstantin Korovin, Nikolai Feshin and other artists.
The total price of the art pieces offered at auction amounted to about ten million dollars.
